  1. There are many ways to transfer video file ( typically 4!5GB per movie).

    They include : 1. Use a cross-over Ethernet cable 2. Wi-Fi/G adhoc wireless network cable 3. blue tooth wireless file transfer 4. 1394 wire transfer 5. Transfer in/out to a USB hard drive.

    Did 1, 2 and 5. Method 5 has the fastest transfer rate, but it involves copying twice.

    Anyone have try bluetooth or 1394 transfer ? Are either of these any better.

    Fastest is sneaker solution. Physically move the drive to the other computer.

    Second fastest is Gigabit Ethernet (~500 Mb/s max).

    Firewire and USB2 copy at about 200-240 Mb/s (max). USB is subject to interrupt. Firewire is all hardware.
