If I connect a nas to the ethernet port, can hdd format be nfts, or must I reformat tp hfs+? Thank you.

For regular disks connected to Airport Extreme wireless base station, the file system has to be HFS+, FAT16 or FAT32.
It may be different for NAS units, as the unit itself handles reading and writing files like a server, instead of the connected computers doing that.

Marccc - Unfortunately this question is pretty Mac-centric. I can understand why to you it seemed like posting under Video Streaming would be a good choice, but around here anything that involves Macs really needs to go in the Mac forum to have the best chance of replies. We do have some experienced Mac people, but they don't always keep up with things posted in other forums.
If you haven't gotten a better answer in a few days, you might try posting with a different subject (maybe "Airport extreme streaming question") in the Mac section and see if that helps. Or you could ask a moderator like baldrick to move this post to that forum today. -
