  1. Hey Everyone,
Nice to meet u all. ^_^
Actually i am New Here...i mean like a member... but i used to read the posts here from way back...Thanks to this Site i found many solutions for the problem i had..thanks for tat everyone... and now im having a problem and i couldnt find a similar post so im creating my own thread here... okay so abt the problem

Well i hav some video files in my computer which are in different formats like MKV, AVI, MP4, etc... and i wanted to burn them to 4gb dvds.. but when i tried a few softwares they only allow me to add two titles.. cuz if i add more the size goes way over the disc capacity.. then softwares i tried are Nero, Ashampoo, and also i tried convert x to dvd..

Convert x to dvd allows me to add more than 2 titles and the resulting quality is good..but sometimes it creats problem when im palying it in dvd player... like i cant select which movies i want to play , and sometimes i can select in the menu but the movie wont play...and stuffs like tat...

so is there anyother software which supports different formats and allows me to add more than 2 titles in a 4gb disc... well if it has menu authoring will be good too...

So hope u guys can help me with this...hope im not bothering u guys...Thanks in advance...

AVStoDVD or DVD Flick can also do this.

Filesize = running time x bitrate. Your size is fixed (one disc), so as you add more footage, you have to reduce the bitrate to make it fit. Some do better at calculating than others. As the bitrate drops, however, so does quality. On a single layer disc, 90 - 120 minutes can produce reasonable quality, up to 180 minutes can be acceptable, depending on the source. After that resolution often has to be dropped to compensate for the lower bitrate.

Thanks for replying.. well i tried dvd flick before if i remember correctly isnt it like nero???
ok i will try avstodvd.... well ya the quality reduces if i add more titles... but i cant afford to buy a lot of single layer dvds to copy the videos... so i dont mind if the quality reduces a bit....

but this convert x to dvd, in this software even if i add more than 2 titles...hmm like 4 the quality is just slightly reduces...i couldnt find differences from the original one....how could tat be??

Depends on the running time of your videos.

  5. Well all the titles i added are around 2hours...so it makes like 8 hours in a single dvd... doesnt it exceed the capacity of the disc... only if it doesnt hav the problems like i said before it would hav been a nice application.....

and abt avstodvd.. i started a project in it and i hav added 3 titles each is 2 hours runtime... and at the lower right corner next to the output size its written like this 8972/4450 mb
does this mean it wont fit in a single layer disc....???
like u told me before tat we hav change the resolution and stuff how do i do tat???
i changed the resolution but there is no change in the out put size//is there something else i hav to do??

and abt creating menus.. how do i confirm i need this menu???
i mean i went on with the wizard and then it took me editor and after tat how do i save it or select it for the current project??

8 hours on a single disc means VCD resolution and bitrates. If you can't tell the difference between this and your source then your source must be very low quality to start with.

You need to set up your preferences before you build your project. If you change resolution etc after you have added your videos then the resolution change wont have an effect.

Set up your project parameters first, then start your project and add your titles.

  13. first of all it is mandatory to make all files to a particular format. since you want to include more video in a single dvd, you can convert all files to 352*288 size with 1200 kbps videobitrate, pal video, and 128 kbps video with 48KHz. after preaparing the files ready for buring, you can use convertx2dvd. first go to preferences, and select video and audio parameters. select customize the size of the target dvd as around 4 gb. the bitrate will be decided by the programme itself. it will make a menu for you automatically. after you get the authorised dvd a vob file, you can burn this with nero or imgburn. imgburn is good programme to burn video ts files. it is a free programme. another programme you can try with is dvdlab pro.
