  1. I used to use Adobe Premiere v7 for editing, but now I have a new hd camcorder that puts out AVCHD files so I need a new program to edit it. Does TMPG have something that can edit AVCHD files?

1)I know TMPGen has an author program for avchd to burn to blu ray, but can that be used for editing?

    2) Any other recommendations for editng, authoring, burning AVCHD files?

AVCHD is not really made for editing, but for simple cuts and pastes there are a few programs out there. AVIDemux and VideoReDo are a couple that may work for you. Another alternative is to use a in-between codec and editing will be much easier, especially if extensive editing is needed. Cineform Neo Scene is popular for an intermediate codec.

Can you even play AVCHD files on that Pentium 2.65GHz machine?
