    Hi

Does anyone know if there is equipment that will convert a display resolution, ie: 1280x800 to 1024x768. I'm using a Kramer VP729 Scaler but it's not doing what I want. I've got a Native 1024x768 projector, but when connecting a laptop that is putting out a 1280x800 resolution, it will display the image but there are black bars above and below the image.

I'm looking for something that will actually convert the 1280x800 resolution to 1024x768. Or convert any other resolution. So far I haven't been able to find anything. Am I looking for something that doesn't exist?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Bob

Why would you want to play the video with bad aspect ratio. What you're asking (1280x800 to 1024x768) will make everyone way too tall and thin. Why aren't you happy playing it with the black bars added above and below to keep the aspect ratio?

If for some reason you want to keep the AR but cut off the sides (why?), then there should be the ability to zoom the video somewhere in the chain, probably in the player you're using for the laptop.
