I am trying to back up my DVD collection on to my home server. 30 out of 200 DVD's using DVDFab8 and no problems. I got to Harry
Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, DVDFab8 took around 4 min to scan disk rather than the normal 15 seconds. Tried a whole disk back up
as have I have done with the rest of my DVDs and at 50% it seems to lock up and then after quite a while it gives a "Failed" message.
It only copied .vob 1 through 4. I went on with more DVDs and had no problems until "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark".
Same Long scan disk time, and failed at about 50%. I had a thought, what if I used DVD43 to break the encription and IngBurn to rip
an ISO. That worked, yet ImgBurn did seem to slow down quite a bit at 50% but then it speeded back up. I then mounted the ISO using
Virtual CloneDrive 5.4.4.0. I then was able to back up a DVD.vob file from the ISO using FabDVD8. I tried the same trick with Harry
Potter. It did not work. ImgBurn flew through Layer 0 at around 6.4x but as soon as it reached Layer 1 it droped down to 0.1x and
remained ther for about 14% of the disk. I then speed up for the rest of Layor 1 but never got above 3.4x. This ISO rip took 1 hour
and 40 min, 2 min of which were Layer 0, the rest was Layer 1. I tryed to back up with DVDFab8 but it failed. I copied the video_ts
folder from the ISO to the failed back up and fried to watch the movie. I also watched the movie from the ISO its self. I have the
same issues with both; sever pixalation in chapters 19-25. There are 35 chapters in the movie. I am sure my problem comes from a
problem to read Layer 1 from the inside sectors. My question is how do I fix this?
