So, I'm asking for some advice here on how to solve a problem with my computer. A while back I was playing a game when it crashed, and like an idiot i did my usual thing and manually turned off the computer. When it rebooted the screen resolution was all haywire and I didn't get back to it untill recently, where the solution was simply to pop out my NVidia Geforce 8500 graphics card and use the built in video port. My issue now its that the computer works off the built in video, but does not say it recognizes it! All information about the video adapter is "<unavailable>". Chip type, DAC type, memory size, adapter string, and BIOS information are all unavailable. It's really quite bizare. I love games, and this puts a bee in my bonet because of the fact that this is hampering my capability to access some of my favorite games! I have attached a picture, cropped the best I can do, of the offending screens. If someone could assist me in this I would be very greatful.

Welcome Grnd91
You have three options
1: Is this system a "brand" named unit ... like dell, hp, ect
If so you should head over to their support website and locate the required device drivers for onboard vga ... install and reboot.
2: Failing the above you have to open the case and look around the mother board for identification makings ... gigabyte, asus, asrock, msi and others indicate motherboard by "model" and "rev" ... head to their respective support website and again search, download and install the vga drivers for onboard ... and reboot.
3: Where identification is not possible you'll need to figure out which north and south bridge chipsets are installed ...
Example :
Via : Support is here
Sis : Support is here
Intel : Support here
You might try Belarc Advisor as a method of discovering what is installed / connected ... use this information in your search.
Anything here onboard is generally useless for any true gaming experience in 3D
