Hi, does anyone know why dvd movies are still in MPEG-2 Format? Why they are not encoded in MPEG-4 ?

	Because DVD is a fixed specification that cannot be changed. If they suddenly started encoding DVDs using mpeg-4 (and which mpeg-4 are you thinking of ?) then DVDs would no longer play in DVD players. 
 
 They do produce Mpeg-4 encoded movie discs - they are called BluRay.Read my blog here.
