Hi,
Forgive my lame attempt at coming up with a creative subject line for this post, but I wanted to generate some interest.
Here's my dilemma:
I have developed a 1 hr video in Premiere Pro CS4 and I want to burn it to Blu-Ray as well as DVD. I want to author it so that the viewer can select a text overlay (from a list of options) much like the way subtitles work. Think of something like a Karaoke disc where the user can select the lyrics in the language of their choice (or select to view no lyrics at all). The reason I don't want to use subtitles in Encore to accomplish this is because the subtitle features are very limited (e.g., 3 colors, text is basically on/off only, etc.). Ideally, I want to have all the power that comes with titling (i.e., font selection, animation, etc.).
The only way I can think of accomplishing this is to create multiple video sequences that have a different title overlay "hardcoded" on them in Premiere (e.g., Video with English titles, video with Spanish titles, video with French titles, etc) and then to author the DVD menu to play the video sequence selected by the user, but this redundancy in video sequences multiplies the size of the DVD and the amount of video that needs to be compressed.
Is there an easier way?
