I'm trying this out with a keychain cam that records in AVI. I've read over all the settings but the final version always has the little vector arrows all over the video. It's twice as shaky too (ironically)

Does anyone know what settings you use for the keychain cams? (ie like rolling shutter, NTSL or PAL and what % for rolling shutter?) I tried a bunch of different settings but results were always the same.

    Thanks!

  2. Set DeShaker up for Pass 1. Run File -> Run Video Analysis Pass. Go back to the DeShaker dialog select Pass 2. Run File -> Save as AVI. During the first pass DeShaker examines the video. During the second pass it does the deshaking.

Thanks, I did exactly that. (I think) Same result, little stupid arrows all over the video and twice as shaky. I must have the settings wrong somewhere but I've tried a BUNCH of different combinations with no luck.

Just to clarify, after clicking on Run 2, you said run file then save as AVI. After run 2 I clicked on "Run Video Analysis Pass" like in step 1, then saved as AVI. Is that what you meant?

    Thanks again.

  4. no , you just need to run analysis pass on pass 1 (or you could push play) . You don't have to analyze it again. After the analysis pass, If you have it set to pass 2 settings in the deshaker config correctly, then when scrubbing the slider you should see a difference in the output window (no arrows) . If not, you haven't set it for 2nd pass (the actual deshaking) properly

Once you are sure you have set pass 2 settings , since the analysis has been already done, and then is your actual encoding stage . video=>compression , file=>save as avi

  5. Note, you should be setting Pass 1 and Pass 2 in the DeShaker dialog. Not in the video compression dialog.
