clonecd and cdrwin were 2 of the most useful cd copiers. mostly limited to what your cd writer can create for sector types. only some really really old plextors could write almost all sector types.

If you have two drives, you might try copying directly from one to the other. Another thought might be to use isobuster. Yet another thought Sony once had a multimillion copy protection scheme that was defeated by filling in the cd with a yellow highlighter.

The OP is trying to copy-protect a CD not rip it.

I personally like taking a knife and scratch the top.

Not so sure about that. I thought he was essentially asking "How to copy [a] protected cd."

He may mean a data cd with a password-protected folder.

EDIT: was writing this as Noahtuck posted.

    Obligatory Star Trek reference...
The Devil In The Dark, season 1. The horta just finishes burning "NO KILL I" into the rock and Kirk says
"No kill I. What is that? A plea for us not to kill it? Or a promise that it won't kill us?"

Who knows for sure what the original poster means except him?

  12. Yeah the question was kinda vague.
If the OP is trying to rip a copy-protected VCD from India then forget it, it's been discussed here a few times and hasn't been resolved.

Yeah, of non copy protected disc's.

I had many disc's before that would not copy with it.

Until recently i still used Nero 6 on one of my backup pc's running XP but now all my pc's are running Vista Ultimate 64 and W7 Ultimate 64 and Nero 6 won't install on them.

Yeah Noah, several months ago I broke down and bought Nero 10. On my quad core it takes 1/4th the time it used to.
