    When I try to render, I get the error message "An error occurred while creating the media file video.avi. The selected codec does not support the current render settings." The video is HDV. The template is custom, based on save type "Video for Windows (*.avi)". Any idea? The Vegas software I'm using is trial, so you can test it out to see what I mean.

    It was x264:
    x264vfw_20_1195bm_1950 did not work.
    x264vfw_24_1666bm_24064 worked.

    Update: it still renders incorrectly, with missing frames. Instead of Vegas I found that Avidemux converts HDV to H264 quite easily.
