  1. Hello everyone,

I had a Philips dvp 3962 ,and found a hack to upgrade some features. The most important upgrade was the file name characters from 8 to 64.I bought another Philips, but this model is DVP 3982 version 98.08.47.45.I need to find a firmware upgrade that will let me expand the file characters. It only has 8 characters /file name.I cant find anything for this player.Any help is very much appreciated. It sucks not being able to read longer files.I went to there web site, and there firmware upgrade mentions faster loading times & a better picture.Nothing else!

You need to somehow contact vb6rocod and ask him to make a new firmware with all his hacks for that player. He used to have his own forum but the links are down for it. Here's a link to his firmwares and there's also his email link on that page.

    Good luck.

I'm sure he has better things to do than upgrade firmware for all of Philips players.Any other suggestions concerning the
Philips dvp 3962 is very much appreciated.

All I can tell you is keep trying once in awhile. As far as I know, he is the only one with the knowledge to modify these Philips player's firmware.

He just added another new player firmware to his download site so that tells you he's still working on them. Maybe there is some hope. I personally wouldn't even buy a Philips model that he didn't have a firmware for, his mods are that good.
