  1. Hi,
I recently downloaded a few MOV files from my iPhone to my computer and wanted to e-mail them. They were way too large so I installed Super and converted a few of them. Only one of the movies won't convert correctly. Whenever I try to convert it to any format, the resulting file plays in fast motion. By that I mean, the original 6:40 passes by in 3 seconds. The audio sounds correct; like I got the first 3 seconds of audio. I'm using all the default Super settings but have tried playing around with them too and have tried converting too several different formats but nothing helps. The only difference between the movies that worked fine and this one is I trimmed the end off of this one using my iPhone. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thanks.

Try convert with other tools, try xmedia recode, winff, mpeg streamclip.

  3. Thanks, I'm trying xmedia recode first. Can you recommend a format/configuration to shrink a 233 MB iPhone .MOV file to 10MB or less? I know that's a huge compression ratio. I don't care too much about video quality, but I'd like to keep the audio as good as possible.

Lower bitrate=Lower file size. You can use a bitrate calculator to calculate exact size like videocalc. Convert to mp4 with avc/h264 video.

  5. Thanks! I tried using the bitrate calculator built into xmedia recode and it kept coming up with 50 for most formats. Most of the time the file ended up larger than I was targeting though. Is 50 usually the lowest you can go? I ended up using what you said, mp4 with avc/h264 and AAC audio (which is actually what my file already was) and reduce the video bitrate to 50 and the audio to 112 and that got it down to 7.5 MB. It looks like crap, but that's what I was going for

Is lowering the audio and video bitrates the only way to reduce file size? It's nice if it's that easy. Thanks again.
