Smartripper

Please help I am trying to use smartripper but keep getting the message some files are still locked try unlocking with player. I have tried several dvds and same error . I am using win XP and my dvd drive is region free. Please post a reply as i am stuck.

Just play a few seconds of the DVD with a DVD player prog such as WinDVD or PowerDVD. Then use smart ripper.

Thanks for the reply but tried that. It says there is no aspi access to this drive and then the message some files are locked it seems to be on the VTS_01_0.BUP-Win-IO Locked!. when I open smartripper if that is any help. All aspi drivers are loaded.

can anyone tell me if they have smartripper working on windows xp.

I am running Windows XP Pro. I have had no problems with any of the dvd to (s)vcd software with the exception of bbMPEG and there is a trick that fixes that problem. I use the following:

SmartRipper 2.41
DVDDcryptor 3.0.0.11
CladDVD XP
DVD2AVI 1.76
TMPGEnc PLUS 2.53
avi2mpg2 1.24 beta13 - bbMPEG
virtualdub 1.4.8
VCDEasy 1.0.7
NTI CD-Maker 2000 Pro 5.1.9

If SmartRipper can't unlock a particular dvd even after unlocking with a player, try DVDDcryptor.

Thanks fo the reply smartripper does not work with me but DVDDcryptor 3.0.0.11 works fine.

I have several computers w/DVD drives. All but one of them work well w/smartripper. The one that won't work w/smartripper rips like crazy w/cladmec1.5. That drive is a Samsung 12x. Hope this helps you. ........ Harrymj3

Windows 200 and XP do NOT have an aspi layer built in. Go to the TOOLS section and d/l the ASPI layer update and install it. You'll be all set.

I have already downloaded the latest aspi drivers and smartripper does not work I think it might be the drive.
