I installed a video system in a church, and having major problems getting my dvd recorder to record. the system is very complex. let me break it down. i have a total of 4 monitors, a computer, a projector, and 2 cameras. i incorporated a video switcher and distribution amp which are both VGA. i have 3 tv to pc convertors, 2 of which are connected to my cams which give me control to view from switcher, the other tv to pc convertor is operating my playback from dvd to monitors via #4 on video switcher. which computer is on #1 on the switcher. the problem i am facing is getting the dvd recorder input incorporated into the mix for recording. i tried a pc to component convertor but all i got was test bars in the recording. DOES ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE THE EXPERIENCE TO HELP ME FIGURE THIS OUT. IF SO, PLEASE HELP. THANKS.

duckman, if you are in doubt about the best forum to use, use Newbie/General. I deleted the one in Latest News and moved this one here. Better to start your own topic. In the future if you wish a thread moved, PM a Mod.

I'm not that experienced with that sort of video system and I'm having a hard time visualizing the setup. Maybe you could diagram it out with MS Paint or similar and post that? Your DVR has a component input? What's the make and model DVR? If you have a compatible video signal, you should be able to record it.

Sorry I missed your PM. It got combined with another and was temporarily misplaced.

What kind of converter are you talking about? Do you mean something like these, composite or component? With either you have to make sure the video resolution of everything going into and coming from the switch is the same, probably should be 640x480. An active converter should give you better results.

You should give more details on your setup and what you are trying to acheive.
