I'm guessing that "BD" in the model number means its a BluRay player. If so, I've not heard of any Samsung BluRay players sold in the USA or Canada that can be made region free for BluRay or DVD playback.

Yep it is a blue ray player home theatre jobie ......
Surely there must be some way to to do it, Would Samsung UK reflash it to UK mode, anyone tried? -
You've been a member since 2003 and made a whopping total of 5 posts. I would guess that you are one of those people who posts a question and when you get an answer you go away, never reading the forums again until your next problem. That would explain why you believe "Surely there must be some way to do it" when there isn't. Good luck though. I'll give you more warning than you probably deserve. Flashing a US/Canada sold player to any European firmware may brick it. We've had reports of that happening.
Of course if you refuse to believe the reality of your situation that you wasted your money on your player, go ahead and try something. Seriously, do be sure to post back if you brick your player trying to make it region free. It might dissuade others from trying the same thing.
