  1. Hi, Im a complete newbie here (be gentle with me!). I have a problem regarding a small clip of video that was taken on a Google phone and is in AVC1 format, it plays back fine in Quicktime when I upload it to my Apple Mac, however when I convert it to MP4 using DVD Converter Pro (so that I can include it as a segment of film in an Imovie film project) it speeds up from a 1min 2sec film to a super quick 2 sec film! I have no idea about codecs or changing frame rates. I've played around with these settings to no avail. Is this a common problem or something that can be easily resolved? Im using an Apple Mac and want to incorporate this snippet of film as editable mp4 into Imovie but its just too quick ...can anyone help?

Try convert with something else, like free mpeg streamclip and convert to a mov.

  3. Do a remux, i.e. a repackiaging without any change to the video/audio streams. I don't know if MPEG Streamclip does that, but you can look for a "copy video stream" option. Or search for an MP4 muxer like YAMB on the PC. I don't use Macs so I have nothing to recommend.

What frame rate does the Google phone camera run at? For example if it is 15fps and after conversion it is 25fps without the proper interpolation then it will appear fast. I have seen this recently with a friends so called movie mode still camera and another poster on another forum had a similar problem.

If you get hold of a free program called MediaInfo for MAC it will tell you all the details of the file. If you post the log then someone may have a solution.
