This week I bought and installed a 1tb Lacie Cinema Classic HD media server. All connected fine, looks good , plays everything i thow at it (even plays 1080p MKV files on my 32" crt TV !). With Twonky Media server (comes with the server) running on my PC the Lacie can see my PC and stream media stuff off that.

Also I can use my netbook (Windows XP) to watchstuff upstairs in bed. I currently use explorer to find the file I want on the network, double click on it and VLC fires up and I am watching my program (no HD though....wireless+netbook won't hack it).

Trouble is that it is not very sexy. I want a nice shiny front end (think Itunes interface....but without having to touch itunes) with playlists etc. I Tried Twonky media Manager. Looks OK, finds the files etc. But when I go to play, says "Buffering" then hangs.

What are others out there doing ? I am very excited about this and so am joing you guys and gals for inspiration.

Thanks
