Hello all:
Long-time lurker but this is the first time I have a question that's sort of specific so I figured I'd start an account and hopefully find some answers.
I have a Hauppauge HDPVR (connected to my Xbox and iMac) that I use to record video game footage for reviewing. I record small chunks of video so it's easier to catalog and find what I want.
These files end up being .m2ts which I have HDPVRCapture convert to .mp4.
(Is it better to use EyeTV and have EyeTV export the .m2ts files as something else?)
From there, I use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to QT so Final Cut Pro can edit them. These files end up being nearly 10-20x larger than the originals.
I edit in FCP and export them to .mp4 so I can upload them to YouTube or Vimeo.
(Am I going through too many steps? Is there an easier way?)
What are the ideal settings for doing this so that exporting/conversing/saving time doesn't take up half of my day?
Thanks, folks. I appreciate any suggestions.
Syd
