  2. Can't say anything bad about VF 2.0 Have a Sony trv17 and pass 2 hours of video through it to a firewall and compress 1 hour segments to vcd's with no sync loss. Other programs that I tried and followed in forums did nothing but have audio sync problems. Plus if your running a fat32 drive it will batch capture over the 4gig limit with nothing to do on the user's part. I highly reccommend it.............

  3. I have used Video Factory 2.0 AND Videowave.
For just the mere ease of editing I would use Video Factory.
Though Videowave has been great for capturing (For me).

I prefer the Video Factory representation of your project over
    Videowave.

However, If you have an AVI file then use TMPGEnc or Cinemacraft
as they convert to MPEG way better than the Ligos plugin Sonic has
    to use.

  4. Hi all! This is my first post. I am very new to computer video editing. I bought Video Factory about three weeks ago, and have been "playing" with it to see what I can do. So far, I have to admit that I'm disappointed. I've been able to capture analog 8mm video, edit and burn a 53 minute VCD, but as near as I can tell, Video Factory v2.0c is not capable of burning SVCD or DVD discs on CDr. It does not give me any rendering options except MPEG1. Am I missing something, or is this just a limitation of the program?

I've been lurking around for a couple of days, and you guys really seem to know how to get things done. It'll take me awhile to learn some of the terms and get up to speed. There is a wealth of information on this site, and I haven't been able to read it all yet. If I ask dumb questions, just say so and I'll back off. Thanks!

  6. I use Virtual Dub to Capture to AVI

Then I use TMPGENC or Cinemacraft for encoding to mpeg

For editing I edit the avi's with ULEAD Media Sutdio for transition effects only, and then encode with TMPGENC or Cinemacraft to make mpeg.

I use Smart Disk MVP for resizing my photos into vcd format to me it's the best I've seen. It will also mix video and photos and burn them. I only use it for the photo part.
