easiest conversion

Hi, I'm a newbie and just 15 minutes ago got my high speed internet connection and headed right to this site. I know where to download now i would like to know what format to download. I see file names like avi, divx, vcd, mpeg. Which is the easiest to convert to a vcd so I can play it in my standalone dvd player. Also is it possible to put a whole movie on 1 dvd-r disc (instead of 2cd-rs)using my cdr drive. Thanks in advance.

mpegs are the easiest (alot on Kazaa and Morpheus will say VCD compliant in the notes, too)....download and burn, baby.

When u start ripping DVDs and converting from DivX, the fun REALLY begins....jesus, talk about a learning curve....shoot me now.
