converting rotated ipod videos for pc viewing

I frequently receive .mov videos which, when viewed, are rotated 90 degrees. How do I convert? view?

if just for viewing, you can do it with qtpro , smplayer can "rotate on the fly" as well

to permanently "fix" , you would have to re-encode (lose quality, takes time). You could use avidemux to do this
