  1. A friend of mine is in the market for a budget laptop that he'll mainly be using for a bit of Photoshop and office work.

I'm trying to decide between a Dell:

    and an Asus

    Any input is appreciated.

He was originally looking at a netbook to cut costs but I don't think a netbook will make the cut for what he wants to do with it.

I wouldn't use a netbook for photoshop work. As much as I am not a big fan of Dell, the Inspiron seems to go pretty well, often get's good reviews, and certainly seems to last longer than the Asus laptops that students come through with.

  3. Any other recommendations? I'm not dead set on the Dell or the Asus. I have an HP that I haven't had any problems with but I haven't really heard the greatest things about HP quality.
