I have some recently made avi files createde with a Nikon camera. If I take the SD card and prepare to load the videos onto my HDD I can play the video perfectly well by double clicking on the avi file while the file is still on the SD card. Once I copy the avi file to a folder in My Pictures I experience jerky playback. Anybody kow why?

  2. perhaps another program running in the background on your system is interfering with your pc video player, with it being able to play it back smoothly. try restarting your system, making sure you have the minimal amount of programs running at the same time you are trying to play it back.

also-what player are you using to play the avis? u could also try a different player to see if you get the same video jitter on the pc. I usually just stick with VLC for all playback http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html
if you dont currently use (or want to use) VLC, then make sure you have the video codec for your avis fully installed. also try playing it back in a different folder, as a last resort. u never know!

And please give more information about the avi, what video codec, resolution, etc. Identify using mediainfo.
