Will a standard capture card do this? I would like to make mp3's from the sat. music channels, and occasioanally caputure video from a DV camcorder. I was hoping I could do both with a capture card. Is this possible? I guess I would need one with a composite a/v input?

Yeah, you can do that, I did using my star choice. Captured with virtualdub all night with the frame rate at like 1 frame per second ( to get the title, and to keep the file small) and audio at cd quality with my old soundblaster 16 with the left/right audio into my LINE IN (using a jack splitter to get stereo) Open the file and save wav, use a wav/mp3 converter like cool edit 2000
