Display date/time code in capture via DV/firewire

I have been searching for an answer to this subject for 3 weeks now, but no luck.

I know the date/time info is in the captured AVI file from the firewire data stream, but I can't find a program that will either display it or capture from the DV camera (via firewire) and write it to the AVI file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This can't be an uncommon issue! Someone has to of came across this issue before and resolved it easily w/o manually editing the captured video and placing the date on each scene!
