As the title says.. Is there a website that can tell me if my Verbatim media is authentic? I just bought some DVD-R and I want to verify. Thanks.

Just kidding, no there isn't. You can use DVD Identifier to see what the ID is.

You're in the USA -- it's authentic Verbatim media. Fake Verbatim branding has never been seen in North America to my knowledge -- only Europe and Asia.

If it's 'Value Series' then it's CMC or Ritek. (More info on Verbatim Value Series blank DVD discs in recent posts.)

Everything else will be Mitsubishi. You can read the manufacturer media ID using this software and referring to the blank DVD media help guide.

Buy it from a reliable store, too -- not eBay or some random store. If you're not sure where to buy them, check out the list of stores where to buy good blank DVD media.
