    Hi..
I got some MKVīs with DTS audio. Is it possible to hear the audio on the TV
when WDTV live is connected with HDMI 1.3, ? or is it impossible?
Does it downmix to stereo or would I get no sound without a DTS amplifier?

wdtv live downmixes to stereo with the hdmi and mkv's, i own it, the regular wdtv didnt downmix but this one does. wmvhd doesnt have sound though will have to use amplifier for those, but have had no problems with all the mkvs i have including the ones with dts.

The old WDTV unit allowed you to send audio out via optical in addition to using HDMI for video + audio. I do that and it doesn't downmix anything via optical. I would assume that the new WDTV Live can do the same thing.
