    Yep, it's in the specs.

I haven't tried it yet, and there's an "HDR Video" option in Magic Lantern.

Apparently, it forces 60p mode and alternates the exposure every other frame. So I guess you're supposed to "blend" into 30p at render?

Or maybe continue to turn off resample?

I have no idea what it does but it could leave the frame rate at 60 fps and use weighted averages at each frame: 25+50+25.

but you can shoot 720p60 rather than 1080p30 and end up with 720p30 HDR.

where did you find support for HDR video in vegas pro 12? i don't see it listed anywhere.

i have a feel for how to do it but haven't tried it out. put the same footage on 2 timelines, cut off the first frame of one, re-align to start. reduce each by .5 to remove all frames of one f-stop. now you should have 2 videos each with a different f-stop. combine the 2 into a subclip, and then apply fx.

  6. I explained this in your other thread

The "inbetween" frames are interpolated with software e.g. twixtor, after effects, avisynth mvtool2 , svpflow etc... e.g. 1080p12 => 1080p24 . Usually it's shot professionally with stabilization rigs, tripods, sliders etc... so the shots are controlled thus the interpolation has a "better" chance of working well with fewer artifacts

You need a tonemapping plugin e.g. gingerhdr for after effects to merge the dark and light exposures - similar to what is done with a still photo. Or you can use the same HDR photo software , but in batch mode to export an image sequence

There are other ways you could do the composite without external plugins in vegas eg. use a luma mask to delineate dark vs light regions then composite

I saw something about it on the Vegas site. Let me check again, and I'll post the link.

I can't find it now, but I read something in one of the "features" pages. I'm going to send an e-mail to the guy that does this. I'll post back.

I was wrong. Here's the reply from Vegas Dev Team:
    =======================================

Magic Lantern is indeed third-party firmware that runs on Canon 5D Mark II DSLR cameras. It adds a lot of very nice features, such as different framerates.
    http://magiclantern.wikia.com/wiki/Magic_Lantern_Firmware_Wiki
    http://www.magiclantern.fm/

I wasn’t aware of the alternate exposure trick to capture HDR; it’s a little like RED HDRx captures in that way. More information on this workflow can be found here:
    http://vimeo.com/groups/magiclantern/forum/topic:250295
    http://philipbloom.net/2011/12/24/magic-lantern-releases-new-hdr-firmware-for-canon-t2i550d/
    http://lesterbanks.com/2012/03/workflows-for-magiclantern-ginger-hdr-in-after-effects/

We don’t have anything that automatically merges these 60p files into a 30p HDR video. However, if that processing were done externally by some other tools, depending on what encoding it writes for the output, we could support that. Furthermore, one could also come up with a workflow in Vegas that could be used to merge the frames together (it would use a 2-frame white/black looped media with masking and math to separate and merge the frames; the result could be rendered to S-Log to preserve the dynamic range).

I’d refer this user to our “S-Log and ACES workflow in Vegas Pro 12.0” document and encourage them to provide more feedback about their needs after reading it.
