Q1
I converted an episode of family guy with a dvd compliant template.
When it's played back the picture goes choppy on any kind of movement! I have done another cartoon/animation film and the same effect has appeared. So I must be encoding these incorrectly?
But then I encoded Kalifornia (region 2) with the same dvd template and it came out very similar to the animation problem, only it was more noticible on fast motion!
Are there specific settings for cartoons/animation?
I have looked at frame rate conversion and I am still learning, any help would be apprecited.
Q2
Using the same mentioned dvd template I can pretty much predict how large a file will be for say a 1hr 30 min film, but a few times I have encoded films now that are over 2hrs and the file size for the film has come out smaller than say a 1hr 40mins film? I'm not changing any settings so I'm guessing this could have something to do with how the film is initailly processed? Or could it be to do with a film being full screen or widescreen?
thanks,
zaa™

Need more info.
If you are capturing, this sounds like a field-order problem, try reversing field order. Also could be frame drops.
