sumvision cyclone mkv enclosure

Don't know if anyone can help me but I have recently purchased the sumvision cyclone mkv enclosure. On reading the manual (which is very poorly written... looks like it might've been in another language and put through one of those translation progs), I thought I needed to connect it first to my pc (os: win xp). On connecting via usb, the pc comes up with usb device not recognised. I have tried a couple of ports but same result. Surely I should be able to see it?

Any help much appreciated.

I don't know if you have done this or not, but the power needs to be on and you must use the B-type socket, not the two A-type sockets for file transfers from your PC.

I had it on, and also used the B-type lead. When I connected it to the tv after failing to get it 'seen' by pc it worked. Just confused as to why pc wouldn't pick it up.
