    Hello, friends
I have an Archos 7, and I am trying to convert DVD and some mkv I have, to play them in it. I normally use handbrake, but I cannot find the right config to make them playable in the Archos 7, which, in theory, can play these formats. The case is that this data are confusing to me, who can roughly differentiate left from right, when it comes to video (a very different case is photo, hehe!). What woud be the optimum config for handbrake? Should I switch to some other tool?

    The Archos specs are these.

    Screen resolution 800x480
MPEG-4 (ASP@L5 AVI, up to DVD resolution)
WMV (MP@ML, up to DVD resolution)
HD support: MPEG-4 (ASP 720p) & WMV HD (MP 720p)
H.264 up to DVD resolution with AAC
MPEG-2 MP@ML up to 10 Mbps (up to DVD resolution) and stereo sound AC3 (5.1)

    THANKS for your help, friends

I guess you have tried make a mp4 with h264 video and aac audio with max 720x480 pixels? Choose the normal profile. And it wont work? You might need to buy a plugin to be able decode h264 using the archos.

Or try convert to avi with xvid/divx video and mp3 audio using format factory, any video converter or xvid4psp.
