For some reason today none of my movies will play sound properly, in all my files the voice soundtrack is all garbled, yet sound effects are fine. I thought this would be bad rips but it happens with them all. MP3 audio, AC3 audio. Happens in both VLC and QT

iTunes is working fine. Any ideas?

    Ok, let's start again.

    1. Open a problem file in Quicktime Player.
Perform a cmd ( apple-) i keystroke, the info box appears.
What does it say about the codecs used for the audio and video?
    Please post that back here.

    2. Has there been any recent updating on your system?
Anything installed recently in the past day, or week?
