I have a home video I saved to a DVD as a standard video DVD, it has no menu, it's unencrypted, and can be played on any DVD movie player. If my understanding is correct, the video should be encoded with an MPEG-2 codec. What I want to do is rip the video to my computer as an mpg file, without changing the encoding, compressing, or otherwise converting the video. I'm using the video in a movie I'm editing, and the editing software works well with MPEG files (as opposed to the highly compress avi file).
Thanks for anyone who can guide me in my quest to rip a simple MPEG-2 DVD to a mpeg video file![]()
