I have a bunch of old MiniDV tapes. The head got messed up so many became pixelated, etc...However, I no longer even own a MiniDV camcorder. I thought about just buying an old cheapo but the price hasn't gotten to where I need. Is there any media device that I can use to transfer to a computer instead of an actual camcorder?

Yes, there are DV VCRs but they cost much more than an inexpensive camcorder.

Have you look on eBay? An old used miniDV camcorder costs very little these days.
