Here is the Flo TV. I was wanting to know if this is a good thing to get. I hear the slingbox is great to seems that you can set the application on your phone and pickup any channel from home on your cell phone Is this true???? I have a Blackberry 9700 it has 3G coverage in most areas. Im just trying to see what would be best well asking some opinions from you guys. I heard the Flo Tv is good just dont have alot of channels available yet and certain areas dont have coverage.

Thanks guys comment on your thoughts

MediaFlo bought rights to UHF TV channel 55 in the UHF auction. In cities they use the spectrum to broadcast a signal tailored to mobile devices rather than TV sets. They acquire programming from several networks.

Slingbox is good, we use one here to transfer digital terrestrial footage around to other machines when we want it. For phone use though be aware of the demands on internet speed. A lot of people running it on phones complain about how unwatchable it is. Not really due to the slingbox, just due to phone network limitations.

Not to mention the data bandwidth you would be consuming.

Definitely. Unless your on an unlimited Data plan it really isnt even an option to consider, many people are now though.

I'm not sure a 3G network could handle the data at all. you'd have to experiment but i wouldnt be confident.

The whole idea of Flow TV is direct broadcast to a device on UHF channel 55. I guess T-Mobile is just redistributing over 3G/4G wireless.
