1clickdvd copy and anydvd

1click employs cprx technology to handle new dvd's with new copy protection software but if I was to use anydvd would anydvd not take care of any "new" protection the latest dvd has. Afterall the whole point or sole purpose of anydvd is to get rid of any new protection on newer dvds, thats why they release updates, so why does 1click need to use this cprx thing since 1click aren't even supposed to remove any protection.

Anydvd is updated all the time to account for new protection/corruption measures. 1clickdvdcopy is unnecessary. 1 click programs often do not do a good job and are rarely 1 click because you need to specify a pathway. You also need to click the mouse to start the process. You need to click the mouse to start the program, so how could it be one click?

I do not understand people's hangup with mouseclicks. It is not like clicking a mouse will kill you.

I let anydvd run in the background. I use dvdshrink to shrink it. I use vobblanker to remove anything I don't want and I use imgburn to burn.

My point is that you do not need the 1click software. As to why 1click added it, it doesn't matter. If you are that curious, ask the vendor of the 1click software and they will tell you.

I occasionally use 1clickdvdcopy (I have subscriptions to both the "5" and "PRO" versions) and neither is capable of ripping a copy protected DVD by itself. In order to rip a copy protected DVD using 1click 5 or Pro, you will need to also use a decryption application such as AnyDVD or the free DVD43.

CPRX deals mostly with overcoming damaged sectors which may have a peripheral association with copy protection, but for every backup I have ever attempted using either "5" or "PRO", the use of a decrypter was also necessary.

There is nothing wrong with 1clickdvdcopy version "5" or "PRO" as long as you understand (their) limitations and use the applications as prescribed.
This is true of all computer software.

Admittedly, it is not the favorite ripping application of the (apparent) majority of posters in these forums, but both versions of 1click used in conjunction with DVD43 have usually worked well for me since 2005, and I have backed up hundreds of DVDs using both versions.

For the record, I also have purchased and use CloneDVD2 and AnyDVD HD as well as DVDFab Platinum.

I've used the freeware combination of DVDFab HD Decrypter/DVD Shrink/Imgburn and find it's attributes no more desirable except for the cost factor.
Probably the best freeware application for standard definition DVDs is DVD Rebuilder, but I find it somewhat cumbersome.

In practice, there seems to be no difference in resultant picture quality or player compatibility among 1click/DVD43, CloneDVD 2/AnyDVD, or DVDFab Platinum, at least for me and friends who occasionally borrow one or more of my backups.

While the 1click software does work to my satisfaction, I have nothing positive to say about the support from LG Software Solutions. On several occasions, they have failed to respond to e-mails, and once attempted to re-bill for the software I had already purchased.
No such problem(s) to-date with Slysoft or DVDFab.

All of these applications have their fans as well as their detractors.
Your opinion is directly related to your experience with the product and/or information from others.
I have seen posts in these and other forums criticizing all of the ripping and decrypting applications referred to in this post.
Most telling are those that bash DVDFab Platinum because of it's country of origin, yet the same individual thinks nothing of using an optical drive or hard drive manufactured in that same country.
