Hi, all! I'm having a terrible time backing up my Bedtime Stories DVD. I'm using AnyDVD and CloneDVD 2, but cannot get the movie to back-up. I also have DVD Shrink, but it doesn't seem to work there either. (And I can't find the main movie in Re-Author)

Here is the status message on AnyDVD:

    Media is a DVD.
    Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 1610080 sectors (3144 MBytes)
Total size: 2898880 sectors (5661 MBytes)

Video DVD (or CD) label: BDS0NNW2
    Media is CSS protected!
    Video Standard: NTSC
Media is locked to region(s): 1!

    RCE protection not found.
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
    UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 11 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!

When I load into CloneDVD 2, it states that it is "Trying to repair defective DVD structure. Please wait...."

Then after it "repairs" the structure and I try to back-up I get this:

"Creation of DVD files was not successful. Unexpected error."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Denis! It worked like a charm.

I've never had a problem with AnyDVD and CloneDVD2 until this movie. I'll keep DVDFab in the back pocket now.

    Thanks again!

  3. You might also want to get the latest anydvd.
Believing yourself to be secure only takes one cracker to dispel your belief.

  4. No probem, but like Dv8ted2 said, it helps having the latest version of any type of decrypting program, movie companies always update new releases with stronger encryption etc

It's strange how one thing works and one thing won't. Today, I got a DVD of Disney's "Secret of the Magic Gourd" - released back in January - and decided to make a backup copy. I've used DVDfab Platinum from the get-go. But, when I tried DVDfab 6.0.0.0, I got an error message saying the DVD had a CSS version it couldn't copy - asking I send them an email to report the issue. But rather than send them an email right away, I decided to try DVDfab 5.2.3.2 - an older version still on my hard disk in a different location. The older version backed it up fine.

But ... in a cosmic coincidence (grin) ... I just got a note about an hour ago saying DVDfab had come out with version 6.0.2.0 - asking me if I wanted to upgrade. I did ... and THAT version backed it up fine as well.

Methinks 6.0.0.0 had a few bugs in it and, just to be safe, I think I'll keep 5.2.3.2 around a wee bit longer. 8)

    Regards,
