    Hello, everyone.

I ask your help for the following:

I have two OS installed, one in C: and the other in D:
When I start the PC, it appears a window with two lines to choose the desired OS. I don't want this window to show. What must I do? ( I vaguely think we must clean one line in a file ?.ini ).
The two lines are equal. How do I know what is the relative to C: and the referent to D: ?

Excuse me if this is a little confused, but I hope one understands what I pretend.

    Thank you and cheers.

It is boot.ini in the root of your boot drive (usually c:\). But be careful, because if you screw it up, you won't be able to boot into either OS.

Instead of altering the boot.ini directly you can also do it in your computer properties.

Rt click My Computer > Properties > Advanced >Startup and Recovery Settings. Select the correct OS as default from the dropdown and then set the selection time to 0 seconds.

The OP states "The 2 lines are equal" and wants to know how to tell which OS choice is for OS on C drive and which is for OS on D drive. It seems to me he has 2 WinXP installs or 2 OS installs of some kind and wants to know how to eliminate the 1 he doesn't want. If that's the case, then the rallynavvie suggestion is the soltuion.

However, the OP may not know the first OS shown when Recovery Settings is opened is the default OS, and changing the time to 0 seconds will eliminate the boot menu and boot to the desired OS without showing boot menu. Obviously the second OS choice is the D drive OS, but it's necessary to know that if one knows it's currently booting to the correct OS.

Edit: Another solution is to edit the boot.ini file to remove the line for the second boot option which is probably what OP meant where he said "I vaguely think we must clean one line in a file ?.ini," but one must be careful to remove the correct one to avoid failure to boot to desired OS when editing the boot.ini file.
