1st Post Hello EVERYONE!

Hey all, 1st post, intro etc. etc. So... I'm a noob of course, I've dabbled in DVD ripping/burning/editing a little, but not nearly enough to know w-t-f all those extra settings mean in many of the programs. Hoping this board will shed some light on it!

And you're already a step ahead of some newbies by posting in OFF TOPIC for a hello thread instead of the main board

Well I'll let you in on a little secret on a lot of programs for video - you may never ever use those extra settings. I know on a ton of programs I've used I've never delved too deeply into them. A lot of them are preconfigured to do just what you need.

In other circumstance more experimenting will be needed.

Well I can't remember the exact date (honest - I don't know).

I joined in 2004 but i had been surfing as an unregistered user for at least a year I guess before I signed in.

I started out as a just a poll moderater (the poll forum was the only place I had moderator power). But then last year sometime they granted me full moderator power

Didn't you become the Poll mod about the time TGPO "retired" (May 2006)? I seem to recall you became a full Mod in Aug 08 about the 26th or 27th.

You got the power eh? What are your "typical" daily duties like? I know it sounds like some job interview thingy, but I am just curious :-p

@gadgetguy - that sounds about right.

@v12v12 - well its not really a firm structure. We kinda do what we want - I mean help out as much or as little as we have time for - not run rampant that is....

But we can move threads from one forum to another, ban misbehaving members, lock threads, that kinda stuff.
