Hi all!
After trying 10-15 different encoders, I still cannot find the right one! Here are my requirements for the encoder:
1. FLV support
2. H264x support
3. CBR! audio (Constant Bit Rate) support (or just CBR by default)
4. Some source bitrate and freq. detection both for video and audio
5. List or batch job support
6. All-in-one apps solution - I'd like to just choose a customized preset, drag and drop the files and let it run instead of extracting the flv first, then encoding, then..etc
And I don't care if it's free or not.
What I mean by source detection is, that some tools can actually detect the video and audio bit rate and frequency and set the encoder to copy those options automatically examining each file. It's especially useful if there are files with different parameters in one list.
The only tool I could find, that really close to suit my needs is Total Video Conveter from EffectMatrix Software (http://www.effectmatrix.com/)
My biggest annoyance with this tool is that it frequently crashes while encoding several files in a list. Additionally, I'd like it to be with more options and more user control.
Avidemux is a good alternative, but it lack the detection ability and each job needs to be created and saved instead of just adding a bunch of files for the same preset.
Any better ideas ?

Do you want it to automatically do this? e.g If you push info button in avidemux it will tell you the info, but you still have to do the settings manually (ie. it won't copy the settings), and queue 1 at a time
xvid4psp can do this, but you have to queue 1 at time. It has mediainfo bundled for source detection, but again it won't "copy" the settings, you have to set it.
I'm not sure why you would want to emulate the settings if you are re-encoding anyway? It doesn't make sense. If you are converting, it would make more sense to use a quality factor (.e.g crf in x264, q in xvid, or quality mode for audio e.g. aac,mp3, vorbis all have this)
Maybe you can write an application
