If you want to add permanent text, you would need to re-encode the video file.

Are you asking about subtitles or just a single line of text?

We have a Subtitle Forum which may give you more information: https://forum.videohelp.com/subtitle-f44.html

If it's a AVI type file, you could use a program like VirtualDub Mod. One guide: https://forum.videohelp.com/topic272736.html

    AutoGK is another option.

What format (Codec) does your video use?

    And welcome to our forums.

    Thank you for the help.

I need to know how to add a single line of text in to a .avi or any other type of video file, not a subtitle. i used AVS Video Editor, but it takes 8 to 10 hours to save the video file. is there anyway doing this shorter than that. like 1 hour or less

Thank you so much for your help

Encoding speed is dependent on a number of things, but top of the list is your CPU and system specs. You have not filled your in, so it is difficult to know how fast your system is, and what impact, if any, an upgrade might have.

Do you need the text on the entire video, or just a section of it ? If it is just a section, you might cut the video, re-encode just a small section with the text, then join the video back together again with the new section. This would be faster and better than re-encoding the entire video.

yea, iwanted the whole video file, and unfortunately my PC's specs in not so high. so obviously it'll take more than a highly configured pc takes.
can you tell me good software to add the text line.

    thank you

  6. It'll be much easier for you if you just make it a subtitle. It takes no time at all, won't degrade the video by you having to reencode it, and it won't deface the video permanently with ugly text.
