    I am a definite newbie.....

I bought an inexpensive panasonic home dvd recorder unit in order to transfer some VHS to DVDs. The VHS were home videos so there is not copyright stuff on them.

The transfer went beautifully but now I cannot playback the DVDs on my laptop. They all hang after 3+ minutes.

    I used TDK DVD-r.

They playback not only the recording deck but i have also played them back on a friends DVD Player (not computer).

When I copied the DVD filed to my laptop and tried to play the .VOB file it would not play at all.

I am clueless - any and all help is welcome

    thanks

  2. Try making a copy of one DVD to another location on your hard drive for testing purposes. Run FixVTS on the files (do whole disc) and see if that solves the problem. Many folks who own DVD recorders say it works for them. Good luck.
    Pull! Bang! Darn!
