    what should I convert my dvds to, to watch on a netbook rockin' XP?

    9 in. screen, with average graph card.

    free conversion tool recs as well please

    edit- what video files will play on a BB Storm without the sync?I can directly drag mpp3s onto this device.

    I would use AutoGK and Xvid. Many netbooks aren't up to playing back H264 at reasonable resolutions, so the low overhead of Xvid/Divx is ideal.

    A USB thumb drive or small external HD , put your video folders on them and watch. Hi def needs dual core with video card with at least 256 RAM. Of course if the screen is Hi Def would be better. The only down side is battery life.
