    Hi,

Before i buy a BR player to my computer and buy Planet Earth BR i have this doubt.
Planet Earth BR doesn't have portuguese subtitles but i have them in srt format.

The question is: Is it possible to play a BR disc and add external str subtitles to the screen?

    Thank you.

Not if you want full blu-ray playback(menus and such) and play with powerdvd or windvd. But if you decrypt the blu-ray to your hdd using anydvd hd you might be able to use media player classic home cinema to play the blu-ray m2ts file and load an external subtitle file. Or make an mkv file from the blu-ray using makemkv and add external subtitles.

    Thanks for the reply.

Well i really prefer to use full playback.. So i don't have to do rips before watching. I can convert to mkv but im afraid of quality loss. Does the mkv format can be made with flawless video quality?

    cheers.

Yep, you can keep the full quality using makemkv or tsmuxer. No video or audio conversion.
