mmv to mpeg2

I know this question has been asked but nobody seems to have the answer.

I have a SONY IP5 and want to convert the MMV files to mpeg2 to make
SVCD.

The sony software does a conversion to mpeg1 but is of an incorrect format.

Can anybody help

The only way at the present time that i know of (i have the same Digital Camera) is in Quicktime 5.0

Although you cannot save as a mpeg2....you can open, edit and save as a mov. or avi. and then convert that file to mpeg2

It seems that it is going to be a while till someone develops a codec or whatever it takes to convert this format.
