I have an older machine with an xfx nvidia 6200 on it....anyone have advice as to a more powerful card? I would like to get one before they become hard to find. No fan is preferable.

Any ideas? 800 and up series?

    thanks

They are difficult to find now.

NVidia topped out around the 7600GT for AGP.
    ATI around the 1650.

I don't know enough about ATI cards to recommend something faster than the Nvidia 6200. There are a number of Nvidia AGP cards in the list above.

If you want a very fast card for CUDA video encoding and decoding, I'd recommend the Nvidia Quadro 1100 AGP card. Great for openGL applications as well such as Maya, 3dsmax, etc. Not the fastest card in the world for gaming. Originally, they sold for $700-$900, now you can get them for $125 http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=232751&om_keycode=3
