I have a pretty old JVC camcorder with DV output. Do you know any simple (and possibly free) tool to capture the DV signal with my PC so to obtain an AVI file?
    Thanks,

Windows also has the capability built in - when you connect your camcorder, you should see a pop-up with an option to capture.

Simple and free -- you gotta go with WinDV, as JohnnyMalaria says. (You also ought to check out Johnny's Enosoft DV Processor.)
