I'm using MMC 7.5.
My system is:
Athlon Tbird 1.2Ghz
ECS K7S5A w/ latest BIOS
256 megs PC 100
Win XP Pro
NO OTHER CARDS ARE INSTALLED!
I'm using the ATI file format in TV on Demand, but this problem happens even if I use mpeg2.
First of all, the video strobes slightly. It's not dropping frames, because that would be erratic. This is very uniform, as though the video was only playing at 15 FPS. This is at all quality settings.
Second, even at highest quality, the resolution is not great. I've seen TIVO's quality and the recorded video looks identical to the original. With the Radeon, TV originating on video (like the local news), looks like film (a sign of low resolution).
One more problem, at least with MMC 7.5: Setting a record timer to record through anything but the RF input dosn't work - it still tries to record through the RF input. I only have it connected to the SVideo input, so I can't use the timer function.
Someone on another web forumsaid ATI was aware of this last problem but I haven't heard of a fix yet.
Thanks for any ideas.
